The history of the productMATTERHORN
BACK TO THE FIRST ASCENT OF THE MATTERHORN, A NATURAL SYMBOL OF SWITZERLAND, 160 YEARS AGO!
The historic ascent of the Matterhorn, or Cervin, on July 14, 1865, by Edward Whymper and his team, remains engraved in the history of mountaineering.
With its 4,478 meters of altitude, this iconic summit of the Alps has long challenged climbers with its majestic silhouette and steep walls. Whymper's expedition was both a technical feat and a tragedy, marked by the fatal fall of four team members during the descent.
Despite this tragic shadow, this first ascent symbolizes the triumph of human determination in the face of the ruthless nature of the mountains.
