The history of the productTONGA: THE SEA EAGLE
THE "SEA EAGLES" ARE THE NATIONAL PRIDE OF THIS POLYNESIAN ARCHIPELAGO OF OVER 170 ISLANDS AND ISLETS.
With a population of just 100,000 and just 800 senior XV rugby players, Tonga can field one of the most competitive teams in the world. Rugby arrived in Tonga at the beginning of the 20th century thanks to sailors and missionaries, and quickly became the sport of choice for Tongans. As proof of this, the Tonga Rugby Football Union was founded in 1923 and their first international match took place only a year later. On 15 August 1924 in Nuku'alofa, the capital of Tonga, the first "Sea Eagles" won 9-6 against their Fijian neighbours.
Their crest featured a dove, also the symbol of peace. However, with their Haka (really called "Kailao"), they show that they are the most combative and determined to seek the victory that will make an entire archipelago proud.
