Legend holds that this is in 1823 that William Webb Ellis “invented” rugby game. It is an acknowledge fact this is was created by the old Rugbeians in 1895, but never mind that!

What matters is that it's in Rugby that the game of rugby was created. At that time, within the public school, the different “houses”were battling it out on the field. Like in the famous moves Harry Potter, the students played for the honour of their house. Each one of them had its own colors and its own emblem. For the player, these games were also the opportunity to be selected for representing the school and put on the colors of the School House, a red striped circled shirt with and on the left chest a skull & crossbones.
