The Union of the French sports and athletics organisations (L'Union des Sociétés Françaises de Sports Athlétiques). At the end of the 19th century and the start of the 20th century, the French teams for athletics, football, rugby, hockey and fencing all made themselves known internationally while sporting these two symbols. But the 13th April 1914, The cock falls after being defeated by Ireland and Wales, France is beaten in Colombes by England 39 to 15. England win the tournament and the Grand Slam.
A few months later the First World War breaks out and out of the 30 players of this famous match 11 fall in battle. It's only years later in 1920 that the French team comes back to international competition.
